The Noble Elegance of Serbian Brandy

Where generations are not measured by calendars, but by the values they leave behind, begins the story of Bosiljčić Distillery — a brandy defined by character, heritage, and pride.

The Bosiljčić family, originally from the Herzegovina region near Nevesinje, relocated in the early 19th century to the village of Gorjani, near Užice. As early as 1820, they began producing fruit brandy — a craft that would, over two centuries, evolve into a symbol of mastery and dignity.

Throughout a history marked by both triumphs and hardships — including the destruction of their estate by the German army in 1943 — the Bosiljčić family preserved what mattered most: spirit, knowledge, and reverence for rakija.
That spirit was rekindled in 2000, when Radomir Bosiljčić built the family’s castle as a monument to his ancestors and founded a modern distillery that follows state-of-the-art technological standards.

Today, with more than 10,000 plum trees grown on their own plantations, Bosiljčić Distillery crafts its rakija through a process that borders on the ritualistic:
every plum is hand-picked, washed, peeled, pitted, and fermented under strict control. Distillation takes place in a five-level column still with an aromatizer, producing exceptional purity and depth. The spirit then ages for years in new Serbian oak barrels — each used only once, to impart pure wood character and aromatic precision.

With 5-, 10-, and 15-year aging cycles, these brandies develop their signature spiced complexity — notes of oak, smoke, and ripe fruit that define the Bosiljčić style. Before bottling, the rakija is carefully stabilized and diluted to 40% alcohol with demineralized water.

This is more than a drink — it is a tribute to ancestors, handwritten in every drop.
A brandy for those who understand the difference.
